It’s January again and that means the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas has taken place again. The CES gives everyone the chance to have a look into the future without the aid of a time machine. Every year we are presented with all ranges of new devices from cars to mobile phones.
Self Driving Cars
BMW has shown off their new toy, it’s an autonomous car prototype that has the ability to drift around corners and pilot through cones at high speed. It has a new ActiveAssist system that will make the car come back into line without any human interaction. It’s able to use this by using 360-degree radars, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. The modified version of the M235i Coupe was unveiled in Las Vegas.
The Padfone
Asus have launched a phone tablet combination A 5-inch 1080p HD smartphone connects to a docking port on the tablet and is powered by a 2,300mAh non-removable battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The tablet its self has a 9-inch HD screen and also uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor but the pad will come with its own 4,990mAh battery. It will come with Android 4.4 KitKat and Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and this will allow it to support voice calls over a data network.
Modular Mobiles
Don’t you just hate it when your phone that you paid a small fortune for goes out of date? With the rate that technology is advancing at and the price we have to pay for it, modular mobiles look like a great idea and I for one can’t wait for their release. the idea behind modular mobiles is that you can upgrade parts of the phone instead of all the phones. The camera, RAM, ROM, and even GPU can all be easily upgraded. Each part slots into the handset and can be replaced when a new version is released.
Audi TT 2015
The 2015 TT will come with an all-digital dash. It uses a 12.3-inch TFT displaying bright colors and easy-to-read fonts. The display has two modes, driving-centric mode where the speedometer and the tach are in the foreground. The other mode is navigation mode, and this moves out to the edges of the screen to offer as much real estate to the maps as possible. The car itself doesn’t seem to be fully complete in the design department but this digital dash looks to be near finished unless they come up with something else over the year.
